Nollaig 2020
NL Nollaig 2020b Pitseámaí na hAoine Bhaineamar go léir taitneamh as na geansaithe Nollag ar an Aoine seo caite. Anois, tá fáilte roimh gach duine pitseámaí a chaitheamh ar an Aoine bheag seo ach éadaí eile a chaitheamh fúthu ionas nach mbeidh siad fuar. Ní gá gur pitseámaí Nollag iad. Cuimhnigh, chomh maith, go bhfuil cead ag na daltaí a gcuid éadaí féin a chaitheamh Luan agus Máirt seo chughainn. We all enjoyed the Christmas jumpers on Friday. Now, all are invited to wear pyjamas next Friday but wear other clothes underneath to repel the cold. They don’t need to be Christmas pjs. If they don’t want to wear pyjamas, they can wear a Christmas jumper again. Remember, the pupils may wear their own clothes next Monday and Tuesday 21st and 22nd. Obair Bhaile Ni bheidh obair bhaile ag na páistarís go dtí Eanáir. Bainigí taitneamh as an mbriseadh. Leanaimis orainn ag léamh. No more homework until January. Enjoy the break. Keep up the reading. Grúpaí sna ranganna ag athrú Beidh na múinteoirí ranga ag athrú na ngrúpaí ina bhfuil na páistí suite nuair a fhillimid ar Nollaig na mBan, Céadaoin 6 Eanáir. The class teachers will be changing the groups when we return on Little Christmas Wednesday 6th January. Gairdín nua Tá críoch curtha leis an gcéad chéim den obair ar Ghairdín na Scoile. Tá tosach na scoile ag breathnú go hálainn. Míle buíochas le Fran, Mary, Renate agus gach duine a chabhraigh. Ní fiú an gairdín a chur amú. Mar sin, tá fáilte roimh dhá chlann, ar a mhéid, ag an am teacht isteach sa ghairdín ar an gcosán díreach in aice leis an ngeata, nuair nach bhfuil sé in úsáid ag na daltaí. Our front garden is looking great, thanks to the efforts of Fran, Mary, Renate and others. Thanks for the long days of work. It would be a shame not to utilise it. So, two families at a time are welcome into the garden, via the path beside the gate, when it’s not in use by the pupils. Ceol na Nollag Thug John, Suzanne, Paul agus Mia cuairt orainn seachtain ó shin agus sheinn ceol Nollag do roinnt ranganna. Bhí sé go hálainn. Buíochas leo. Tá roinnt den cheol le feiscint ar chuntas giolcaireachta na scoile @scoillorcain. Some of the classes had Christmas music from Mia, Paul, Suzanna and John last week. It was wonderful. Some of the pieces can be seen on our Twitter account @scoillorcain.ie Buíochas as a bheith cúramach ó thaobh sláinte Táimid thar a bheith buíoch do phobal uile na scoile as an gcúram atá á dhéanamh againn go léir dár sláinte. Tá na daltaí - le tacaíocht leanúnach ó na muinteoirí agus na tuismitheoirí - thar barr. Coimeádaimis suas é i rith agus tar éis na Nollag. Léiríonn na scéalta sna meáin ó scoileanna eile a leochaillí is atá cúrsaí i gcónaí. We would, again, like to thank the school community for being so careful with regard to our health, these days. The pupils - with continuous support from teachers and families - have been wonderful. Let’s keep it up during and after the Christmas period. Media stories concerning other schools show how fragile the Covid situation in schools is. Meabhrachán ó Chumann na dTuismitheoirí Go bhfuil cód deonach againn sa scoil a iarrann ar thuismitheoirí roghnú gan guthán cliste a fháil dá bpáistí go mbíonn siad críochnaithe sa bhunscoil. Léirigh suirbhé tacaíocht láidir don chód seo. Tá polasaí oifigiúil ag Bord Bainistíochta na scoile a chuireann cosc ar ghutháin chliste a bheith ag páistí ar scoil, chomh maith. A Christmas reminder from the Coiste to all those parents who opted into the Voluntary Code last year agreeing not to allow their children in the school to own a smartphone device up to and including Rang 6 . Our survey showed strong support for this code. The survey will be run again in Jan 2021 to allow the new Naíonáin Shóisireacha to participate . We also stress that it is a voluntary code for parents and that that every family has different needs and priorities . Normal non internet phones are not part of the code . This in parallel to the formal school policy relating to Smart phones Eachtra Scanrúil Nóta ó thuismitheoir faoi thimpist ar Bhóthar Bhaile na Manach ar an Aoine seo caite 11 Nollaig. Last Friday 11th was a very scary experience. I'm hurt but in fairness if it was one of the children it could have been devastating. Can I please ask for your help. I'm looking for anyone that witnessed the accident. It happened as we were crossing the road across Monkstown Valley between 8.40 and 8.45am can we reach out to our school community? I know some people were going past because one of the dads noticed me talking to the driver and picked me up and brought me to the doctor. They could contact me or the Dun Laoghaire Garda station it would be a big help as the lady wouldn't stay until the garda came. I would also like very much of we can give a message to all parents and children walking/cycling/driving to school to remind them it's a busy time of year and to plead with them to always look twice. This car reversed into me from a junction while we were crossing the road. Thank goodness I was between it and my daughter and we were far enough away Angi 0866032970 angi.crispe@gmail.com Feighlí á lorg Tá feighlí páiste a lorg againn chun aire a thabhairt dár triúr páistí (8 mbliana d’aois, bliain amháin agus 8 mí) in ár dteach féin ó mí Eanáir 2021.
